STEP 2: OPEN A PHYSCIANSAPPLY ACCOUNT

 

Physiciansapply is a centralized portal and is probably the most important resource during this process. You will upload your credentials here for source verification and this is where you will register for your MCCQE1 exam. Moreover, this is the portal that allows you to share your documents to other licensing bodies like the CFPC and CPSO (more on that later). To open an account, it will cost you $298 to open an account. If you already have an account open with them ( if you were like me previously and considering doing residency in Canada), this account will still be active and you will not need to pay another fee to open up a new account.

Total cost of this step for me $0 (but it will cost everyone else around $298CAD)

    Once you have obtained your CPSO license, there are just a couple more steps to go, all of which can be achieved online within an hour or so. STEP 3: Source Verification

  Source verification essentially is the Medical Council of Canada confirming the documents that you are submitting are genuine. This is arguably the most painstaking part of the process (besides the exam of course). There are a lot of documents that require verification, and it's important to plan ahead because the verification process can take upwards of 2 months. The process involves you getting copies of a document, meeting their submission requirements (which sometimes requires certification), paying the fee for source verification and then submitting it to the physiciansapply portal. Introduction

  So you've completed your FRACGP and are thinking of moving back to Canada. I did the same from 2021-2022 and what I hope to share with you is the mental and financial strain that I had to go through in order to get my credentials as a GP (Family Physician) to Canada, specifically Ontario.
