STEP 1: FIND A RECRUITER
No matter how much you research this topic and no matter how much knowledge you collect, the journey will still be incredibly difficult. Hiring a recruiter will make things so much easier. They know the whole process and what you need to do to get your credentials across to Canada, and they have a large database of facilities that are looking to hire a doctor. For those who are not Family Physicians or applying to other provinces, your recruiter will help you through the application process (i.e which colleges you'll have to apply for etc). The service is FREE (unlike most of the credentialing and registration process) so there is not much to lose. Make sure you find someone that is suited to you, I changed recruitment agencies a month into my journey as I did not think my first agency had my best interests in mind. I am not going to post which agency I chose (mainly because I don't wish to advertise for anyone publicly), but I'll be happy to share that with you if you want to send me a message.
Total cost for
this step: $0 (and
probably a lot of time)
